My name is Matthew Pharr and I am honored to serve as the Principal of Cherokee County High School.
I began my journey at CCHS in 2012 as an intern under the mentorship of Mrs. Rhonda Blanchard. The following year, I was hired as the In-School Suspension (ISS) aide, and a year later I transitioned into the classroom as a full-time teacher. For ten years, I taught Economics and Political Science while also serving as the varsity soccer coach for ten years and the varsity wrestling coach for five years. I later had the privilege of serving as assistant principal for four years. These experiences allowed me to connect with students both academically and athletically while helping develop well-rounded young adults.
As Principal, I take great pride in supporting our students, faculty, and families. I am committed to maintaining the high standards, strong traditions, and strong sense of community that make CCHS such a special place.
I am also blessed to share both my personal and professional life with my wife, Melissa, who has been a dedicated math teacher at CCHS since 2017. We have been married since 2013 and are grateful to be part of such a supportive community.
